Glitter Pumpkins with Aleene's Tacky Glue

This pumpkin is a great decoration idea for all the Fall holidays! This is a craft project that is perfect for kids and adults.

I experimented with Alleen's Original Tacky Glue for this pumpkin.

I mixed up the glue with the glitters (about 3 tablespoons of glue, 2 teaspoons of the regular chunky (0.040 size) glitter, and 1 teaspoon of the fine craft glitter (0.015). They are all Craft Glitters, but you could also use Polyesters if you wanted to.

Painting on the glitter glue took a bit of work. Though I am pleased with the thickness of the glitter coat, I was not as happy with the matte finish that the Tacky Glue created. It is a dries clear glue, but it is not as clear as the Tacky Clear or Elmer's Clear Glue. For the stem, I decided to paint the glue on and then press the glitter onto the glue. When I did it this way the glitter shimmered brightly.

The finished pumpkin shows both of the technics I used to make this glitter pumpkin.

This can be done on real pumpkins or on artificial ones.
