This video is long, but with good reason. In the video, you are shown a fast and easy technique on how to add a glitter accent to your walls using a glazing medium. In addition to that, we cover other mediums, a few tips, and things to look out for when buying products.

What glitter to use?

Craft: If you choose craft glitter, there are some warnings that we have to give. 1. Craft glitter fades over time and in direct sunlight, 2. Some colors may bleed into your glazing medium- test! 3. If you go with a solvent-based product (not the glazing medium covered in the video) the glitter will bleed or even start to break down.

Polyester: If you choose poly glitter there are fewer warnings, but still a couple of things to look out for. 1. If you put polyester glitter with a metallic coating into a water-based medium you need to work quickly and not store the mix. Aluminum can off-gas in a water-based medium (especially if it gets hot). So, if you mix it into the glazing medium be sure to use it right away. 2. Avoid cosmetic grade glitters. They are not meant for prolonged sunlight exposure or industrial applications.
