All Glitter Projects
This DIY Christmas decoration takes plain pine cones and adds a bit of glitter to them using homemade glitter glue.
For this glitter art project you will need:
- Mod Podge Gloss
- pine cones
- poly or craft glitter (Metallic Nutmeg and Storybrooke Brown, Holographic Midas Touch, Iridescent Glitterati Rainbow, and Cosmetic Iridescent Black Copper Mine were the poly glitter colors I chose.)
- a fine or medium paint brush
- small cups to make glitter glue in
- a cup of warm water to rinse the paintbrush off between glitter glue colors
I poured about 1 teaspoon of Mod Podge and 1/4 tablespoon of the poly glitters in each of the cups I was using to make the glitter glue in. I mixed the glitter and glue fully with my paint brush and painted each decoration.
The effect is stunning without needing to use a lot of glitter and glue. The glitter sparkles and the Mod Podge gloss adds a nice shiny final coat. When using glitter glue you will not have much (or any) glitter flaking.
