This project was inspired by a product we sell on another one of our crafting websites- The Community Puzzle. You can find these puzzles at hyglossproducts.com This project shows how to add glitter to the puzzles, in particular, the border.
For this project you will need:
- A Community Puzzle
- Spray paint (I used metallic silver for the border because I wanted to use a silver based glitter on top)
- glitter (I chose Poly Holographic Centauri Silver in the 0.040 size)
This project needs to be done in a well-ventilated area due to the fumes that spray cans produce.
The picture above is what the puzzle looked like when it came out of the box- all white. I decided it would be cool with a glittering frame.
The silver spray paint was sprayed in sections to allow the glitter to be sprinkled onto the wet paint. If your spray paint dries too quickly to sprinkle the glitter onto then you can use a spray adhesive on the dry spray paint (or regular glue or Mod Podge).
To assist in spreading and adhering the glitter to the silver spray paint I used a soft bristle paint brush.
The finished edging is spectacular!
Now the center pieces can be decorated by a group of people; as in team building seminars, birthday parties, weddings, family reunions and so on. What fun!
