Glittering Glass Ornaments

This DIY project is fun for the whole family, inspired by the DIY craft projects, repurposing craft projects, and glitter Christmas craft ideas.

Choose your glitter colors (craft glitter is fine to use and is less expensive than polyester), Beacon Glitter-It (a glue specific for glass use), and a paint brush (for any outside glue and glitter application you may choose to use).

If you want to glitter the inside of the ornament your first step is to squeeze a bit of the glue into the glass bulb.

Quickly swirl it about and remove the excess back into the glue jar. Once the ornament is completely coated you will add glitter and shake it to cover the entire surface.

You may need to add a little more glitter if the jar is not fully coated inside. You want to move quickly during this process (glue dries fast). I recommend using a little more glitter rather than less (for these balls I used about two tablespoons of glitter).

Thes picture shows the difference between using a regular and fine glitter.

When you want a little more depth to the glass ball you can coat the inside and then add glue to the outside and dip the ball into the glitter.

Here are some of the finished glitter ornaments that I created using this technique.
