This lovely candy dish was found at a local thrift store. The bowl cried out for a little glitter to make it into a wonderful Christmas table decoration.
For this DIY Christmas decoration
- a glass bowl or candy dish (I chose something with a design.)
- A poly glitter (this project used Metallic Red Hots)
- Beacon Glitter-It (good for glass)
- 3 paint brushes, two had softer bristles (a fine and a medium size brush) the other was a stiffer bristled brush (you may choose a
varietyof sizes depending on your bowl or dish)
Using the softer bristle paint brush I painted on the Beacon Glitter-It glue.
Moving VERY quickly (as the glue dries quickly) I poured the glitter onto each stripe (right after I painted the glue) and pressed the glitter into the glue.
Using the stiffer bristled paint brush I carefully brushed off the excess glitter from the edge of the design onto the paper towel on my workspace. Then I poured the excess glitter back into the cup I used to hold the glitter between applications.
For the tiny straggler glitter bits I used the medium soft brush to get the final clear glass look.
The final bowl looks great and will be a sparkly addition to my Christmas table decorations.
